Bio

Dj Sandoors is a native of Hungary who has lived in the US since 2000.  His start in music was as a drummer in the late 1980s when he played and toured in Metal and Hardcore bands that were influential for other bands of the time.  The scene was considered underground, but in the mid 90s, his band was signed by the international record company Polygram.

Once in the US, he started composing Techno music suing a drum machine, a sequencer keyboard, Porta studio and , while also adding color with his djembe African drums.  In those early years, he landed in Key West, Savannah and New York City where he played his djembe drums in subway stations.

After a show at the famous underground venue CBGB where he tried new music, a kind of industrial Techno with live performed African drums, he realized his mood was turning towards House music.  Big inspiration came from Dj mixes which he found in 2003, leading him to buy a Pioneer CDJ 1000 MK2, opening up new musical possibilities.

He took trips to Dj festivals in Miami and experienced the return of feelings from his teen years when he went to Disco clubs where the 80s Disco, Funky, New Wave, Techno and Pop hits completely ran through it.  His original album Time to Go, which had ten songs, was distributed in Miami at those events, including the 2005 Bang Music Festival.

Another turning point came in 2007 when he discovered the modern ADM music available on Beatport, after which he only mixed purchased tracks.  While he created a stable livelihood in Savannah, he didn’t find here the venues with Progressive, Deep, Disco, Funky House music. That’s why he began to create short documentaries which he shared on YouTube and did video editing for a talk show that aired on Fox TV.

However, over the years in Savannah, he has played live in surprising places, including The Jinx, El Rocko Lounge, Venus De Milo,  B&B Billiard, The Sentient Bean and at private parties.  His last big musical project was as drummer in a local Heavy Metal band featuring a virtuoso guitarist with original compositions.  When the guitarist moved away, Dj Sandoors once again turned to producing Dj mixes which he has shared on YouTube.  With the launch of this website, he’s announcing his desire to mix live in venues that are welcoming and in sync with his energy.
